About

Two brothers.
Too much editing.

Monkeygun is a video company run by two brothers who got tired of the part of video that isn't deciding what to say. We built a director you talk to. It writes, voices, designs and cuts — and keeps going when you're not looking.

The founders, Aram and Jon Barnett.

How it started

Curbily first. Then the question.

Before Monkeygun we built Curbily — a production OS and creator marketplace — and ran real content pipelines through it every week, for our own companies and for other people's. The work we loved was deciding what to say. The work that ate the week was everything after: scripts into timelines, footage into cuts, captions, exports, the same edit in five sizes.

The first proof was tokenslop: a channel that turned live crypto data into short videos every day with no person in the loop. Once that worked, the question was obvious. If the source is real and the intent is clear, why does a human have to touch a timeline at all? A karaoke lounge with a folder of room shots, a telehealth brand with product pages, a cookbook that doesn't exist yet — they all have sources. They all need video.

So we built the general version: one director that reads any source, a render engine that draws every frame from code so nothing is a template, and the channel → show → series → episode structure from actually running media properties.

What we believe

The source is the script

Every number, name and claim traces to something you gave it. Thin source, thinner video — never padding.

Editing is a sentence

"Shorter." "New hook." "In Spanish." No timeline. If you can say it, that is the edit.

Channels, not clips

One video is a demo. A show that runs on your source for a year is a business. The structure is the product.

Open doors

Everything in the studio is an API call and an MCP tool. Agents are customers too.

Who it's for today

Real customers, real channels. See the work →

Micdrop

Karaoke lounges. Ads cut from their own footage, fifteen per campaign.

LevelUpRx

Telehealth. Compliant ads straight from the product page.

tokenslop

A media channel and paid promos running through the API.

Under the hood

The director

A Claude model that reads your source, writes the script, plans the visuals and edits by conversation. Standard or Max quality per account.

The render engine

HyperFrames — HTML, CSS and motion rendered frame by frame in a real browser. Every video is code, so nothing is a template.

Voices, faces, sound

ElevenLabs voices (clone your own with consent), presenters from a photo or a stock host, a licensed music library, generated SFX, AI footage where it earns its place.

Sources

Pages, feeds, GitHub, Drive, uploads, your footage, structured data — and a research crawler that builds the knowledge graph a channel runs on.
