The chimp is back

Monkeygun started as a joke that worked. A chimp with a rifle, neon green on black, and a promise that was only slightly less absurd: point it at a source and a video comes out. For a few months the site got polite — soft gradients, a tasteful M. It was fine. It was also not us.

So the chimp is back on the door. Underneath, the product got a lot less absurd and a lot more real: a director that reads any page, file, feed or folder; shows that make episodes when their source moves; a research crawler that builds a knowledge graph a channel can run on; carousels and stills from the same brief; your own voice, your own footage, your own Buffer channels.

What the brand means now

  • The green is a signal, not decoration. It is the color of the "watching" dot on a live show.
  • The chimp is the operator. It does the thing you would rather not do, and it is not precious about it.
  • Nothing is a template. Every frame is code drawn in a real browser. That is why two videos from the same show never look like siblings from a wizard.

If you want to see the structure — channels, shows, series, episodes — sign in and look at the lab. It is all there.
